Updated: May 26, 2023

SKY Soccer Club and Franklin Simpson Youth Soccer Club announce partnership agreement expanding SKY Soccer Club soccer programs to the city of Franklin, KY and Simpson County. With the support of the current Franklin Simpson Youth Soccer Club leadership and Franklin Simpson Parks and Recreation, Fall 2023 will kickoff with “SKY Franklin Simpson” Pre Academy (4U-6U) and Recreational (U8-U14) programs. Registration will open May 26th and the season will begin mid July with practices and games hosted at Jim Roberts Community Park in Franklin.

SKY Soccer Club will provide enhancements to existing programs including age and developmentally appropriate curriculums, volunteer coach education via our Academy Director of Coaching, Referee training, as well as registration and communication platforms. The current Franklin Simpson Youth Soccer Club leadership will be actively involved in all aspects of the programs that we plan to grow from the well established 300+ players per season.

“One of our goals is to provide greater access to high quality youth soccer programs in southern Kentucky and offer opportunities for players to meet or exceed their soccer potential. We’re continually seeking out opportunities and making investments to improve our programs while maintaining low fees and getting more kids involved with soccer, and doing it with our core values of character, commitment and community in mind at all times. We couldn’t be more excited to be expanding our footprint again and working to grow the game in Franklin and Simpson County”

Tim Zuccarell - Executive Director - SKY Soccer Club

SKY Franklin Simpson will immediately see the impacts of the SKY Pre Academy (U4U-6U) program, delivered in partnership with Mighty Kicks Southern Kentucky, a program that has grown from 260 to nearly 600 seasonal participants in Bowling Green in the last few years.

The 8U-14U Recreational program players will be offered new and exciting opportunities to mix game schedules in with SKY programs in Bowling Green/Warren County, Auburn/Logan County, and Morgantown/Butler County to experience different levels of competition and meet up with players throughout the area for fun play dates.

“We are very thankful for the SKY organization for their interest in helping expand our program, with the addition of SKY Pre Academy (U4-U6) I believe you will see an immediate impact on our program. The kids will love the program and it will teach them so much! I cannot wait to see what the future has for our program and our partnership with SKY soccer club”
